Table for 3

I ordered a table for 3
Me, her and her fears
Fear was that one companion she always held onto
So portable she never had qualms carrying it along
Her fears were full already
Already satisfied with the lie that love was a mirage
She never got to wrap her arms around it
Because every time she tried
It flapped its wings away from her grasp
And believe me she tried ceaselessly
So here she is…
Resigned to fate
‘Something’s are never meant for me’ she would say
And here I am…
Repeating words her eardrums were already accustomed to
But this time with truth
Not from my lips
But from the heart
Because truth becomes false when sincerity speaks otherwise
And now we’re served.
PS- Go to school
Get that degree
Give love another shot
Put your fears on a wheelchair
Say that prayer one more time
Smile again just this once
Those things you failed at, try them again
If you fail, keep trying (as long as it’s positive)
We only fail when we stop trying
And I’m done preaching…
