WEATHER FOR TWO

The night was getting darker
And her light skin shone like sunlight
So bright it lit up the room
With everything in it including him
The rain had just began to perch on the sun beaten roof
Drop by drop till it graduated into unpleasant rhythm
And she was the quiet one
Who always tended to his wounds
The mother of his children, the legal slave
She would always sacrifice her ambitions for his
Try not to displease him so all she did was to appease
From her cooked meals to his clothing’s
From his patches to soul longings
Always to blame for every miscarriage in activities
She was everything but a wife, confidant, best friend
And he was god the figure of a man
So like other nights he came
With hands on her
Searching the receipt of what he thought she was worth
Of what he had bought
She laid like a corpse with breathe
A statue with a heart
He never looked into her
But he always went into her
Not to repair the broken pieces
But to multiply the rubbles
He never placed value on her
Guess she never had any
