Teach Him These Things

Teach him about maturity
Tell him that broad biceps, a large chest and an articulate accent are no symptoms of it
Tell him it starts with the heart
And the body only reacts to growth changes as is expected of it
Tell him to stay ripe
Ripe enough understand the dynamics of living
Teach him about survival
To be able to adapt to situations life flings at him
Teach him that maturity doesn't come with a truckload of girls and a champagne bottle
It comes with the clarity of how he views the world he lives in
And sometimes the view might be distorted
But then stability makes the shots clearer
Teach him to mine his mind properly
Harness the mineral resources buried in it
Who knows what might find
Maybe not liquid gold but it's equivalent
Teach him to look past the swag and freshness
For in the thought of that
He'll find hand and redone himself
Teach him these things
