Scales

Life is a scale
And to fit in man must find his balance
Find his footing
I mean isn’t it amazing
How too much is chaos?
And too little is disaster
How slow is regress
And how fast means danger
How, that that which gives life can be the very thing that takes it
Water;
That which gives joy can be the very thing that breaks it
Love;
That which gives warmth can be the very thing that takes it
Fire;
That which brings peace can be the very thing that flames it
Silence;
How steady is steady?
How safe is moderate?
Do I bend with the wind when it wanders?
And what should be the tempo for my existence?
