This Is Africa

It starts in the morning,
and dances through the night,
spilling like an overflowing keg of palm wine.
See as the dust rises to the heavens,
drizzling back to earth like gentle rain
falling from chandelier sky, the color of blue,
the sound of peace and feel of graceful warmth,
the chanting of voices, deep and rooted in hope
When you have baked your soul into a novel home
A new body, black and bold,
Like the backbone of a dancing fore-elder
Tell it, that this is AFRICA.
