Poisonous Berry
So I asked,
Why does sin look so tasty, poisonous berry
Why does wrong feel right always
How come we know it’s wrong but still engage in it anyways
Are we overwhelmed by the pleasure than the consequence?
Or do we think the repercussion lacks adequate competence
Why do we act before thinking?
More like we’ve digested before eating
And why does it come in so many forms even
Even in the form of that which is genuine?
So much we know not which is and which is not
Why does it have so many costumes?
And lastly, why are we it’s most common attire?
How did we become so unguarded, becoming the very deceiver of ourselves
