There will come a day;
When beauty shall look you in the eye
Innocent,
Shivering with an unknown fear
Helpless, handicapped
Searching for a cave in your voice to hide itself
Shield itself;
Gasping for a blanket of warmth in your back pocket
Funny enough
You’ll be helpless too
You’ll have trouble sleeping
Because beauty will lay beside you
And that day you learn
That nothing beautiful is yours only
Yours alone to keep, and if you ever did
Then you should be called lucky
