Teach thy sons these things
Teach him about mistakes
Tell him that they are inevitable
But also tell him that he will never live long enough to make them all
Tell him that mistakes are features to humanity
So he should never feel less of a man when when he makes one
Tell him that mistakes birth perfection
And only those who try new things make them
Tell him that the electricity bulb of which gives him light was once a thousand time failure
Tell him the pencil has an eraser
But not for decoration, because mistakes are meant to be made
But not to be rested upon
Mistakes are no traps but stairwells to greater achievements
But also tell him of the pen
Because soon he won't be needing the eraser any longer
So he'll need to walk circumspectly
Because any mistake might drop him to rock bottom
Tell him mistakes are deadly but healthy too
And not conscious mistakes because he might not live long enough to regret it
