Teach Her These Things

Teach her these things
Tell her about the word beautiful
Tell her she owns it
Please tell her this as often as possible
Before she finds comfort in the home of needles and skin pads
Tell her that her nose is perfect
And her front/backside flawless
Tell her that her earlobes will still hold much the weight of her beauty without making it look like a fancy block
Help me tell her she's an artwork sculpted by God
But mosttimes we collapse when we try to be our own architects
Tell her there's nothing wrong with fitness
But the emergence of muscles and biceps is fruitless
For she's made tender and delicate
And she's best that way
Teach her to accept herself as a whole
That she's a pack of nothing short of awesome
And when those lines begin to stretch themselves
Let her know, that God just signed his seal on her
Let her know that lightning just made a debut on her skin
Let her know that nature just found home
Tell her that those freckles are imprints and sprinkles of grace
Teach her these things
