Tell The Pulpit

September 3 2017 , Written by Ofem Ubi Published on #poetry

Dear African Christian
Why have you chosen to die before death?
Why have you made your mini-hell before time
Are you prepping for the future
Already aware of your end
For you serve in fear instead of freedom
And you don't worship because HE'S faithful
You worship because you're scared of what the consequence might be if you refuse to
So you've built your prison with iron bars as laws
Just too circumspect of hell that you end up in it eventually
You say you're free but
The chains on your hands and feet speak differently
He gave you the new testament
But it seems you're comfortable in the old
You only portray God as consuming fire (which HE is)
But then forget that HE'S also a loving and caring Father
So why will the unbeliever hear your cry in the morning
When all they see is a slave with a manual in hand
A manual you don't even use properly
Why will the heathen chose your faith
When all they see is a person caged in a faith too beautiful that they're just too afraid to understand
Do you read too much of revelations
Did the rats also tamper with the love chapters of your manual
You say your God owns the wealth of the earth
When all you look like is...
My comments I better reserve
