Tell The Pulpit

Walk, walk closer
A bit closer HE said
Stare steady
What do you see HE asked me
And I stared steady like HE asked me
As my tongue lost strength to speak
My eyes squinting
Too fearful to behold the night in what it witnessed
I told HIM I saw something
I saw a pulpit
Smeared in red
With corpses around it
The breathing types
I told HIM I saw spare parts in skin
And an ocean of wealth
I saw a veil stitching itself back together
I told HIM I broken bones
I told HIM I saw a book
But this book was different
The words were read reversely
Regardless of them being written correctly
I told HIM I saw a man
Clothed in thorns and tears
With skin shredded to pieces
As they were left hanging on HIS soon to be gone bones
HE stood watching
While the pulpit danced in glee
As if it were ignorant of HIS presence
And HE said
"You saw well".
